Landmark legal victory on Oil & Gas permits.
We won a landmark legal victory, with the Scottish courts agreeing with us that the Rosebank and Jackdaw oil and gas fields in the North Sea were unlawfully approved as they failed to undergo full and proper climate checks - and quashing their drilling permits. Shell, Equinor and Ithaca - the companies behind the fields - are now currently blocked from extracting oil and gas from the fields.

Greenpeace Netherlands won court case in nitrogym lawsuit against Dutch government
We filed a lawsuit because the government is doing way too little to protect Dutch nature from too much nitrogen. The court ruled in favour of Greenpeace. It ordered the State to get to work immediately to reduce nitrogen emissions in most vulnerable nature areas.
The court ruled that natural habitats in the Netherlands have been proven to have deteriorated, and the State must comply with its own law. That means the State must bring 50% of nitrogen-sensitive nature below the relevant Critical Load by 2030, prioritising the most urgent natural habitat types.
